For any business wishing to produce the highest quality photographic prints, fine art reproductions or proofings for client approval, Epson have developed the 9800, which they believe will provide the very best quality image or reproduction on the current market.
What makes it special? Well, in collaboration with the professional printing industry Epson have produced their unique Ultrachrome K3 ink, an 8 colour ink set which includes 3 black inks with interchangeable photo and matte black cartridges. This almost completely replaces the previous Epson Ultrachrome technology with the only ink the same being the matte black. K3 is based on the newest generation of pigment ink, which produces such a stable and vivid colour precisely because it is pigment based and not dye.
The Epson 9800 has 3 paper paths supporting a wide range of roll and cut paper up to 1.5mm thick and up to 44 inches wide. It also has a resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi which delivers a level of image quality that exceeds the previous best.
Retailing at between £4106 and £5276 the Epson 9800 is not at the bargain basement end of the market, but the resultant reproductions are undoubtedly stunning and of uncompromising quality. So is the Epson 9800 the future of printing? In a fast changing technological world it would be very hard to make such an exalted claim, but there is no doubt it represents one of the best printers currently available.

There are probably attics that contain old watercolours or sketches done in a burst of enthusiasm by a member of the family whilst on holiday – looking at a stretch of Cornish coast or a city skyline. These are works of art, if unrecognised by the wider world and probably even their own creators.
How many of these might be loved by a child or grandchild as a reminder of their own childhood? Or appreciated by the rest of the family as a reminder of a special holiday or occasion, or even of the artist themselves?
Families often find themselves living miles apart and so a piece of artwork produced by someone who is rarely seen can be a strong link for the family, helping them to feel close.
A scrap of paper with a sketch is nice, but likely to find itself left in a drawer or worse still, creased, torn or even thrown away by mistake. Putting the creation on canvas means it will be treated very differently and will be valued so much more, simply because we all value something that has been made with care, something that demands to be cared for.
The person in a family who enjoys sketching or painting will get such a boost from seeing that their family appreciate their work enough to want to make it permanent. Having a picture by one of your relatives on the wall is so much more meaningful even than having a framed photograph of the event. The care and skill and personal touch of something actually created by someone outlives a photo.
Having the early scribbles of a young child put on canvas may be a bit unkind, but the older child or adult who has a career and other life but enjoys drawing and painting as relaxation, and is able to produce something pleasant to look at will be thrilled to see their creation printed on canvas and placed for all the world to see.
And in the sad circumstance of having lost a family member, what a lovely way to have a reminder of them to have their work, done by their own hand, beautifully presented on canvas on the wall of your room.

Color your life with photos of your loved ones

One of your most cherished photographs was taken during the “summer of love” in a place that makes you smile when you think about it. In the photograph, you and your friends were rolling around on the grass, hugging trees and kissing each other when someone snapped a photo and gave it to you. You eventually had it transferred to a disc. With the feelings it evokes, it doesn’t seem like it was very long ago, and the photo always brings up such happy carefree memories when you pull it out.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have that scene on canvas to remind you of that freedom and happiness every day? You would no longer need “an excuse” to drag it out at a party, but, just have it as a permanent joyful reminder every day by making it “canvas art” (or canvas print) to hang on your living room wall.
One of the most difficult tasks is to find a gift for someone who seems to have everything? This type of person does not hesitate to run out and buy what he wants, so it is unlikely that you can get him something he does not already have. Instead, you should give a gift that he cannot buy. Giving a unique gift that you made yourself will show the receiver that you truly care. If you feel creatively challenged, consider photo gifts to make lasting and meaningful items for your loved ones. Try photographs of you and your partner as children or pictures of pets. Children, puppies and kittens at play make excellent subjects for heartwarming keepsakes that the recipient will treasure.

Don’t we all just love having frames around the house filled with old pictures, old memories? Photos are a great way of keeping our old memories alive and intact but most of the time photos are collected, looked through and stored away until someone remembers about them.
Canvasses are the modern way of keeping memories alive in a contemporary way. A christening, a wedding even a birthday, convert your picture into a massive commemoration to that event with a beautiful canvas on your wall. They’re great because they allow you to build the design of your house with a personal touch and aren’t they just lovely to look at? A canvas expresses a memory within your house for everyone to see, and it brings a cosy hint to the décor of the house. From family to friends you can show off memories that make you happy and after that you can forever look at your wall to smile without the daunting task of having to rummage through photo albums and boxes!
Canvas prints last forever and instead of burying old photos away or losing them, invest in a canvas to preserve your most cherished memories forever as well as making the interior of your house glow with fond memories.

Printing personal photos onto canvas
No comments · Posted by Kerry in Canvas Photo Printing
Canvas prints are becoming increasingly popular and are now a regular product in most art, photo and DIY stores. For a more personal touch however, people are now having their own personal photographs printed onto canvas. This is becoming a growing trend and is a lot easier and more cost effective to do than it may first appear.
The visual benefits of this are that canvas prints are impactful and can add a dramatic effect to any room. Choosing from a range of personal photos also means that the colour scheme of a room can be matched perfectly. It is also an alternative way to display pictures of family, friends or other aspects of life which are of personal importance. Everybody loves to have photos displayed showing some of their happiest memories, but choosing one significant photographic memory and turning it into a flawless, professional canvas print can really add to a room and bring those precious moments into your daily life.
Choosing the right photograph is important. Most people will choose a key moment in their lives. However, other factors to take into consideration are colour, theme and what kind of atmosphere you want to create. For the keen photographer, you can display your own talents for all to see. Typically, photos involving nature and people work best, such as close-up photographs of faces or flowers, trees and scenic views.
As well as one-off memorable photographs, canvas printing is also great for creating a series of prints. Three smaller sized canvas prints in a room will look stylish and professional and show off creative flair.
Chosen and produced properly, personal canvas prints can provide a stunning addition to any home and also make a great personal gift for others.

Escape the Ikea cliché and get some originality
No comments · Posted by Kerry in Canvas Photo Printing
Buying prints from Ikea or buying the cheap Bob Marley poster from the student union may seem trendy but everyone ends up having the same living room. Is it not more interesting and bold to have a hand in the creation of the art work which ends up on the wall?
With digital photography becoming more and more popular, this can be achieved by putting personal photos on canvas, be it a sentimental family photo, a shot of a beautiful landscape or even a self-portrait. For someone who wants to be creative and yet lacks confidence in their artistic ability this is a great way to go about the décor of a home as it is almost fool-proof. It means that making a statement could not be easier as no one can really afford to buy the latest Damien Hirst painting, especially within a recession.
The ability to be able to choose a unique photo to be put on canvas is a revolutionary way of bringing innovative art to everyone. Art is no longer just something that can be enjoyed by the elite, to mull over at an exhibition but it is something which everyone can enjoy and take part in themselves.

Do you look around your home and feel like something’s missing? Art has a place in many people’s lives giving them pleasure every time they look at it. Galleries are set up around the world to display the most famous of canvas based paintings, and auction houses arrange the sale of many that can go for millions. This is not an affordable way to start a collection for most of us. Also the personal affection for a painting can take years to build up, unlike the paintings created by our children.
An ideal solution is to have your very own photos printed on canvas. Think of all of those memories you have shut away in the cupboards maybe to be seen only a handful of times in the next 20 years. Imagine those memories displayed as artwork on canvas all around the house. Whenever you are feeling low or the rain is pounding on the windows, just look up at that canvas and be reminded of that summer holiday where the sun always shone and you met many new friends. You can even show off your memories to friends as your very own art collection.
Creating a customised art collection by taking photos of your favourite subject and having them printed to canvas could be a great way to have that unique collection. Don’t let the lack of artistic ability or millions of pounds prevent you from having a collection to be envied. Get clicking or dig out those photos and get them printed to canvas.

What is it?
Canvas photography is the process whereby an ordinary photo is transformed into a picture that looks like a painting. It looks, seems and even feels like it was painted by a real artist. The only difference is that the onlooker will not be able to tell whether it is really hand painted or printed on canvas by canvas printing professionals.
How is it done?
Any photo can be used for canvas printing, even old, discoloured or flawed photos. The photo gets duplicated onto canvas by means of a printer and this canvas is then carefully stretched over a frame which will then give it the painted-on-canvas look and feel.
Before printing it, however, the photo gets analysed to see if any flaws can be removed and usually, if it needs to be enhanced or improved in any way, it is at this time that a photo is worked on. The higher the resolution of the photo, with colour and contrast defined, the better it will look on canvas.
What for?
Nowadays, there is so much photography out there and millions of photos we have kept at home, that modifying a common photo to a canvas print is a way of preserving a picture and it is exactly the thing we will put up on a mantelpiece or wall for all to see. It is perfect for posterity as it lasts much longer than a paper photo or digital frame will. Paper photos tend to discolour, get mildew or dog-eared. Digital frames need batteries to be constantly on show. But a canvas printed photo is immortal in its own way and is a lasting gift of loved ones and for loved ones.
For example?
Everybody has a favourite picture or ten. Even a whole lot scattered around the house in frames.
A canvas printed picture is one that immortalises that love.
It can be your favourite dog or pet goldfish, your baby boy with his first toothless smile, your daughter at her first ballet performance, that magical day at the beach in the Caribbean, a special family gathering, your third and last wedding, your graduation day or just you in the middle of a sunflower field on a summer’s day looking rather ethereal.
Whatever the favourite photo, it is beautifully transformed to a painter’s lifelike art with canvas printing.

There are two situations that many of us can identify with.
One is finding the perfect piece to put the finishing touches to a newly decorated room and the other is having a favourite, memorable moment captured on camera.
So, you can spend a small fortune on a one-off piece of art by an artist that you have never met or spend a modest amount on a print that will also adorn the walls of countless other people, and consign your magic moment to a rarely browsed photo album.
Or you could create your own piece of canvas art providing the ideal solution to your décor dilemma and showcasing your cherished memories in a stunning, unique piece of art.
By having your favourite photographs turned into canvas prints, you can create pieces of artwork that will both complement your home and express your personality.
You can choose from a range of finishes including colour, black and white or sepia, to ensure that your finished piece of art compliments your chosen colour scheme beautifully.
So, whether your favourite snap is of a crisp, frosty morning in the park, a dragonfly hovering above a shimmering lake on a hot summer morning, a child’s excitement at Christmas or a sleeping dog snoozing in front of a blazing fire, having it printed on canvas will be the best design choice you will make.

Presumably everyone had a relatively good New Year’s Eve and spent most of New Year’s Day in the recovery position regretting or embracing the activities of the previous night. Photographs have been pawed through, discarded or more than likely, uploaded onto every social networking site known to man for the whole world and his wife to laugh at.
Amongst these many mugshots there will photographs to be frowned at and others to be proud of but the majority will hold memories of good times. This is the virtuousity of the camera and its ability to produce forever kept stories of our lives. Whether these recollections are kept in albums or placed into frames, there are also other alternatives to think of when displaying your prints.
Choosing one of your favourites and having it printed onto canvas is another way to exhibit your photograph. All it takes is for you to download it onto the computer and have the picture printed on canvas. How unique would your front room look with your own, personal canvas adorning your wall?
Now that the Christmas and New Year festivities are over there will be other celebrations to cater for; birthdays, anniversaries and perhaps more favourably, St Valentine’s Day. Surprising a loved one with a special memento of your love to them would be the perfect gift and very simple to create. Printing a honeymoon photograph onto canvas will ensure the memory of that special time will be with you both always.
