Canvas photos for a romantic surprise
No comments · Posted by Kerry in Canvas Photo Printing
Taking photos of your and your partner is a great way to show your love, and traditionally couples have pictures taken in photo booths, with passport sized photos being printed, and then stored in wallets and purses. It’s a good way to carry a picture of your loved one with you at all times.
Some couples like to have pictures taken at professional photographers, posing for the photos in a photo studio, with a specially chosen background and a selection of studio props. This type of photography can be expensive however, and when you’re presented with the pictures by the photographer, you’re offered a series of different sizes and options which can cost hundreds of pounds.
A much cheaper way, and better way, is to take the photos yourself or have a friend take them, and to have the photos printed on canvas using a specialised canvas printer. Photos to canvas look far more impressive than passport sized pictures or any photos printed on paper and framed, and they’re usually available in much larger sizes as well.
Show your loved one how much you care by having a photo of the two of you together printed on canvas.

Imagine some of your favourite photos. A castle on a hot summer’s day. Your children playing in the paddling pool. A close up of a butterfly. A sunset beach that you took in Florida. You are proud of these photos and many more like them. You save them on your computer and every now and again you have a look at them until one day you forget all about them. Some of your best images may just get viewed more often because occasionally you have printed them out and put them in a photo frame. One or two of them may even get enlarged and be framed professionally. These are the best out of maybe six or seven thousand photos that you keep and add to on every holiday.
Your photos deserve better than this.
Now imagine a large canvas on your living room wall. In pride of place above the fireplace. Three elephants walking across the horizon with a burning red sunset in the background. No this is not an oil painting or a watercolour by some famous artist but this is your favourite photo you took while on holiday in Kenya last year. Yes this is the same photo, enlarged, framed and printed on canvas! This is the latest way of showing off your photos by literally turning them into paintings.
Amazingly it is not that difficult to do. Most cameras nowadays have a very high resolution which enables very large prints to be made without any loss of detail.
A great way to display photos and a very modern and stylish addition to any room. Photo Canvas pictures are catching on quite quickly and are being seen in many Rich and Famous properties all over the US and now here in the UK.

Today, we take more photos than ever before using our digital cameras and mobile phones. We store them on our computers and tend not to print them and rarely look at them. In the past it was only possible to paint on canvas using oil paint, but modern technology has made it is possible to take advantage of the unique quality that is achievable when printing photos onto canvas.
Printing on canvas can make a picture really stand out and look beautiful. It is special and has a distinctive quality and also has a long life span. Canvas ages well and can really make a picture feel enduring and can capture the moment gracefully. Printing on canvas allows you to preserve your most treasured memories which can be cherished in years to come, and is the choice today of most professional photographers.
Not only can photos be printed onto canvas, they can be reproduced in black and white, or be enhanced by taking away red eye or editing any damage. With the correct care and elimination of direct sunlight, your print has the potential to last a lifetime, as the UV inks employed contain light stabilisers that can keep prints looking new.
An Inkjet process is used for the majority of canvas art printing, commonly referred to as Giclee. Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is derived from the French expression meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works.
Once the image is printed, the canvas is trimmed to size and glued and stapled to traditional stretcher bars or a wooden panel. This is then displayed in a frame or as a gallery wrap.
Gallery wrapping is a term for the process used for framing canvas prints and can be used to enhance the three-dimensional effect of the mounted print. It takes a lot of skill and experience to accomplish a finish that is of high quality. The print is firmly stretched and wrapped around the rim of the canvas, particularly on smaller size canvases, as on some photographs, significant details are near the edge.

Photos on canvas for keeping memories alive
No comments · Posted by Kerry in Canvas Printing
What better gift to give than that of a treasured memory? And what better way to keep memories alive than by photographs?
The digital camera is undoubtedly one of the best inventions of the 21st century. For most people it’s near impossible to go anywhere without one. Whether it’s the ecstatic look on a child’s face when he shoots and scores in his first football match or the breathtaking view of the sun setting over Lake Windermere. How amazing, that at a click of a button, a moment in time can be captured and treasured forever.
These memories could be stored on a PC, in a photo album or in a traditional photo frame. But then they could be printed on canvas and turned into an original work of art.
It seems no modern home is complete these days without a canvas or two, usually of a pretty flower or woodland scene to match the curtains. A personal image printed on canvas, adds a more personal, unique touch to the home, sparking memories whenever it is viewed. The first kiss on a wedding day, a small child blowing out the candles at his third birthday party maybe the family dog swimming in the lake.
Another option is to go black and white and recreate the nostalgia of a bygone era.
An image of the hustle and bustle in a favourite city or the peaceful landscape of a beautiful beach. The possibilities are endless.
Whatever the choice, a photo on canvas will be one of a kind and will add a sentimental feeling to which ever room it’s displayed in.
