4 July 2014
Over the last year we’ve been working hard to bring you a better Point101 experience. As well as updating our logo and visual identity, we’ve revamped the site and cut out the clutter. We’ve added new products, and made it easier and more enjoyable to view them.
A dozen new frame styles and sizes.
We’ve added 12 new frame mouldings, including smooth matt black, white, mahogany, bare-faced, aluminium, A0-sized, and a range of other sizes. Take a look.
For larger framed prints, we’ve introduced a 3mm acrylic glazing – twice as thick as before, and more robust.
Lots more choice for giclée prints.
Four new papers. Fotospeed PF Gloss (270gsm, ultra glossy, smooth finish); Hahnemuhle German Etching (310gsm, wonderfully fibrous, textured finish); Fotospeed Platinum Matt (280gsm, smooth and white); Hahnemuhle Photorag Pearl (320gsm, 100% cotton, subtly textured, pearl finish).
Two new borders. White ¼ and ½ inch. Great if you want to frame prints yourself, losing less of the image behind the mount or frame rebate. It also protects against finger marks.
Many new sizes, including a refresh of our digital sizes to suit both compact and SLR users. See these, and order our A4 printed sample pack of 8 papers, on the giclée page.
“Is your Perspex print floating?!”
Our Perspex mounts now come with hidden fixings and aluminium sub-frame hanging system, making your images look like they’re floating off the wall. (You can still order visible front fixings if you like). Plus, we’ve reduced the price across the range.
We now offer DiBond, MDF, and Gatorboard mounts, to suit a variety of environments and budgets, all with our custom-developed hidden hanging system. We’ve also introduced Photo blocks, which come in MDF and Perspex.
Upload from Facebook
You can now upload images directly from your Facebook account. Perfect for smaller framed prints and gift items such as Photo blocks.
From July, you’ll also be able to create your own photo book with us.
Support portal: now more supportive.
We’ve updated our support portal with information on preparing your image, soft proofing, colour profiles, and monitor calibration. You can also read more about the services we offer, such as test prints, image editing, and limited edition labelling.
Our blog, Point102.
